Playing With Fat
Finding a way to play with and love up on your curvy, fatty, or loosey goosey parts can be fun, rewarding, and extremely pleasurable. It can also be a part of us that carries a lot of shame or self-loathing. For some of us, this practice might feel familiar and for others it might feel very new. Wherever you are, I encourage gentleness and cultivated a compassionate witness inside of yourself.
The invitation:
If it feels okay enough, start standing or on hands and knees, gently shaking your whole body with the intention of noticing where you feel your fatty parts. Let your attention wander to a part that feels interesting to you. Then see what you can to isolate that part, allowing it to be even MORE jiggly and loose. Change positions, shapes, and angles to explore. How do your fatty parts like to be touched? Slapped? Kneaded? Tickled? Caressed?
How might you talk to this part of you? What might it say back?
Shake and repeat with a different fatty part.
Icing On Top: After you've loved up on your fatty bits, select a fatty food to savor slowly. Maybe it's peanut butter, or a buttery croissant, a jelly doughnut or mac n cheese. Notice if you can release any ideas of "guilty pleasures". Notice what comes up if you can't.
