Bondage Play

Bondage play can be an incredible place to physically and mentally surrender. It can be great for those of us who are in our heads a lot during sex or need some extra physical reminders to be in our bodies.

You can play with bondage with a variety of mediums from rope (most common) to chain (more intense) to silk (more sensual). The most important thing to consider is your safety. Always have a way to easily get out - having safety scissors near by is essential. Sometimes big feelings can come or a body part can go numb and those extra seconds you can save by cutting the bind can become crucial.

Whether or not your are experienced with bondage or not, the below practice can offer some new insights and ways to play with tying yourself up.

Invitation: Get yourself a spool of thread. You can tie the thread to each of your big toes, deciding how much space to leave between your legs - totally up to you! You can also just tie one toe to a piece of furniture or bedpost. Then the invitation is to self-pleasure any way you want to, but try not to break the thread. If you do, you can make up a little 'punishment' for yourself like, now two body parts get tied to the bed. Or, one arm is taken out of play. Or you must now be blindfolded.

Whatever you do, follow what feels good FOR YOU. You might decide the thread is not working for you - maybe you want to try one hand with a belt or use a scarf to tie your legs together. See how this affects your mind/body/heart.
