Body Listening
This is an opportunity to allow your body to speak to you about your pleasure, your likes, preferences, and desires.
For this practice you’ll need a recording device, or an app on your phone or computer that allows you to record and play back.
Determine an amount of time you will listen and set a timer. I recommend 20-30 minutes minimum - just to get past where it feels silly. Turn on your recording device. Lay on your bed, floor, yoga mat, or blanket making sure you are comfortable, warm and undisturbed.
Ask aloud “Body! What information do you have for me about my pleasure?"
Let your body speak to you, say out loud what you hear, sense, smell, see, colors, textures, words…LISTEN to your toes, thighs, head, genitals speak information - it may not make sense but say it aloud.
When your time is up, thank your body.
You can put the recording aside for a day or two then return to it and transcribe some notes from your session.
You can also play the recording back and allow yourself to move, draw, write, walk, etc. as you listen, actively receiving your own body’s wisdom.
